About Dr. Daniel Haupt

As an educational researcher and transformational practitioner, I bridge the critical gap between academic inquiry and life-changing practice. Currently serving as Retention Specialist and Academic Advisor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, I combine my role as

First Generation College Student (FGCS) Qualitative Researcher Lead with frontline student support to create evidence-based pathways for student success.

My scholarly focus centers on FGCS persistence and retention—research born from both professional expertise and personal conviction as a FGCS. Through my doctoral work and current practice, I've witnessed how academic achievement accelerates when students discover the profound connection between their education and their life's calling.

I seek to create transformative value as a voice of destiny—committed to guiding others in uncovering their Why, their Ikigai: the sacred intersection of purpose, passion, and contribution. My mission is to empower individuals to live intentionally as purpose-driven leaders, aligned with their unique calling and equipped to make meaningful impact in their communities and beyond.

My life's work centers on guiding students and leaders through discovering their unique S.H.A.P.E.D. for Destiny: their spiritual gifts, heartbeat, abilities, personality, and experiences, all strategically orchestrated for transformational impact. This framework, grounded in both research and practice, has proven effective across diverse populations—from first-generation college students to corporate leaders seeking renewed purpose.

Rooted in an Ikigai-centered philosophy, I believe each learner carries a reason for being—a sacred intersection of passion, skill, value, and contribution. Drawing from my experience as Brother-to-Brother Program Coordinator and my ongoing research leadership, I see students not as passive recipients of information, but as leaders in formation, each carrying untapped potential that deserves to be recognized, cultivated, and activated.

Instructional technology serves as my primary tool for bringing this vision to life. It transcends mere innovation—it becomes a humanizing, spiritually resonant, and socially just force that transforms learning into purpose discovery. Through faith-integrated design, culturally responsive strategies, and equity-minded platforms informed by Universal Design for Learning, I create environments where students grow not just in knowledge, but in clarity, calling, and courage.

My approach integrates rigorous academic research with transformational coaching practice. Whether through my work in mixed-methods research, my role in student retention, or my S.H.A.P.E.D. for Destiny masterclasses, I remain committed to one fundamental truth: education is most powerful when it helps learners act on their dreams—with vision, voice, and vocational purpose.

Currently pursuing opportunities in adjunct faculty roles across the Denver metro area, I bring this integrated approach to every learning environment, combining scholarly rigor with transformational heart.
